| A note on choosing a vendor for On-Site
service: Most organizations have strict rules concerning the insurance coverage of vendors working on their premises, regardless of what they're doing - major construction or just calibrating test equipment. Chances are, your organization requires both workers' compensation and general liability insurance. A low-ball quote may be a sign that a vendor is under-insured or uninsured. Insist on receiving proof of adequate insurance before issuing a purchase order. If at all possible, tour the vendor's facility to be sure they're "for real."
