Covidien Valleylab Teaches Service School Students with
our ESU-2050
February, 2008
In 2008, Covidien Valleylab customers that attend a Covidien
service training seminar will learn to calibrate Valleylab
electrosurgery generators with the new BC Biomedical ESU-2050
Electrosurgery Analyzer. The ESU-2050 is replacing the legacy
Fluke Model 8920A Wide Band Digital Multimeters previously

Alcon Labs Using the BC Biomedical DPM-2200 Series Digital
Pressure Meters

Alcon Labs is currently purchasing and using the BC Biomedical
DPM-2200 Series Digital Pressure Meters within their service
organization. The specific device used is the
DPM-2201-100-10-N-HF. Alcon customers wanting to use the same
test device can order under this part number.
BC Group is now a ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory

On November 23, 2007, BC Group was certified as an ISO 17025
Accredited Laboratory. BC Group continues to comply with ANSI/NCSL
Z540-1-1994. BC Group is also ISO 9001:2000 Registered. To see

Covidien/Valleylab
is currently using our
ESU Analyzer...

Covidien/Valleylab is currently using our new BC Biomedical
ESU-2050 in their customer service training seminars to teach
their students how to repair and calibrate their Valleylab
electrosurgery generators including the Force 2, Force FX,
Ligasure, and Force Triad. The first-ever customer training
seminar to cover the new Force Triad platform will be held in
Boulder, CO on December 11th & 12th, 2007 and will feature the
ESU-2050 as the instrument of choice for test and calibration of
the Force Triad platform.
Covidien/Valleylab
Adopts ESU-2050
October
2007
Covidien/Valleylab of Boulder, CO, the worldwide leading
manufacturer of electrosurgery generators, has adopted the new BC
Biomedical ESU-2050 Electrosurgery Analyzer as a replacement for
the older
(discontinued) Fluke Model 8920A Wideband DMM. The ESU-2050 is
currently being used in service, calibration, manufacturing, and
R&D activities by Covidien on a worldwide basis.

The new BC Biomedical ULT-2000 Series of
Ultrasound Transducer Electrical Leakage Current Testers
represents a new standard of testing for manufacturer-specified
pre-procedural safety testing of TEE and other types of
"invasive" ultrasound transducers. There are two models
available: the ULT-2010 and ULT-2020. Both models offer
significant improvements and functional enhancements over
previously available testers for other manufacturers. These
testers can be used by technical individuals such as biomedical
engineering technicians as well as by sonographers, central supply
processing technicians, etc. To get additional information on the

BC Group is proud to introduce the new Bacharach
ambient N2O TGA (Trace Gas Analyzer). This unit has
greatly improved accuracy, resolution, response time and stability
when compared to the Bacharach 3010. BC Group has evaluated the
new TGA in an OR with an anesthesia machine in a simulated mode
and it performed extremely well. The Bacharach N2O TGA looks like
it's going to be an excellent product to add to the BC Group line.
Bacharach is planning to start shipping the new TGA in the
December - January timeframe and 3010 inventory should remain
available until this time. The list price for the new TGA is
$3,895.

2007
Two new product overview technical "white papers" are
now available in PDF format for downloading. The BC Biomedical ESU-2000
Series paper and the new ULT-2000
Series paper can be viewed or downloaded at any time. These
new documents provide an excellent technical resource for
biomedical engineering technicians, clinical engineers, etc. in
the areas of electrosurgery testing and ultrasound transducer
electrical leakage current testing. Both papers are authored by BC
Group International.

Company). BC Group was founded in 1988 in St. Louis,

In November of 2000, after more than a year of
preparation, we passed our ISO-9002 audit. The auditor we chose
was Orion Registrar from Denver, Colorado. ISO
certification/registration serves as recognition of a company's
dedication to quality. In addition to the steps we took to achieve
ISO certification, BC Group maintains an environment of Continuous
Improvement - a philosophy that touches all aspects of the

After many years as a test equipment distributor, we've taken
the plunge and are now producing our very own brand of biomedical
test equipment. Our items carry the "BC Biomedical"
tradename, and so far include our new MaxiSim 2000 Multi-Parameter
Patient Simulator, model DA-2000 Defibrillator Analyzer (with
sync, biphasic and AED test capabilities), and DPM-2000 Digital
Pressure Meters. More products are already well underway. We
showed a few items at the Indiana Biomedical Society conference in
late January, and the big unveilings will be at HealthTech &
AAMI (including some surprises!) We'll still offer a full
complement of other new & reconditioned brands, but we think

test equipment, which is now ready for resale. Dominated by DNI
Nevada items, we have literally dozens of 232D safety analyzers,

Impulse 4000 defib analyzers, many 100MHz oscilloscopes, and lots
of HP RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators,

BC Group Headquarters Expansion
& Renovation - Fall 1999
Many BC customers know that we are located in an historic brick
school building, built in 1904. Our president, Bill Collier,
attended elementary school in this building, and now he owns it!
(No, he wasn't here in 1904!) BC Group is located on the lower
level - areas formerly occupied by the school's cafeteria,
kitchen, and music rooms - all of which was nicely renovated when
we moved into the facility in 1993. We are now expanding into the
next level up - an additional 4,200 square feet.

BC Group has embarked a mission to gain ISO 9000
Certification, with a targeted timeframe of 2nd half 2000. This
development process is already significantly impacting our
business in many positive ways, and we look at it as much more
than a "plaque on the wall." We're closely scrutinizing
every procedure and work process, and are re-thinking everything:
Shipping/Receiving, Service, Purchasing, Accounting, and more. The
result will be a streamlined workflow strategy with as few errors
as possible. Another part of the process involves our in-house
training programs, which we are formalizing and refining. It's a
time-consuming but worthwhile effort. One change that will impact
our customers: Our ISO procedures will require written purchase
orders, so we'll ask our customers to fax, mail, or e-mail orders
to us. Most folks do this already, and we realize this is an
additional step for those who don't. But, it will eliminate many
potential errors and miscommunications, so we hope everyone will
support our efforts. |
